Taichung Universal Animal Protection Association (TUAPA) has received an immense amount of support over the past 2 years in our International Adoption Program. From North America to Germany, we have found some amazing individuals who are willing to help give these street dogs and cat’s a second chance. Due to the lack of permanent homes in Taiwan, we have had the opportunity to send unwanted street dogs to loving homes overseas. The staff at TUAPA, understand that this is not an answer for the overpopulation of street animals. Although, there are some cases where the animals require specific medical treatments or need rehabilitation.
If you are wondering how you can help TUAPA with The International Adoption Program, here are the steps:
We are seeking passengers who are flying to Seattle, LA, US, Germany, or Vancouver Canada.
As a passenger flying to these destinations, you would be taking the animal along as baggage.
You would not be responsible for any of the fees, paperwork or legal procedures.
You would have to contact TUAPA 10-15 days prior to departure.
You would be required to provide photo copies of your passport; this is needed for The Bureau Animal Quarantine Committee of Agriculture.
On the day of departure, the volunteers would contact you in advance and set up a meeting place at the airport.
Once the animal has arrived with you at the proper destination, the other volunteers who work in accordance with TUAPA will be there to receive the animal.
If you have any flight information about traveling abroad you may contact us at the following e-mails.
If you are unable to help with The International Adoption Programs, there are still other great ways to help support TUAPA. You can choose postal remittance or an ATM Transfer. (Taiwan Only)
